Geography Students field trip for a geographical study of the lake basin

College of Education and external studies students taking Geography are en route to Kericho, Kisumu and Kakamega for a Geographical field study of the lake basin led by Dr. Shadrach kithiia and Mr. John WakaJummah. The field trip is part of requirement for students’ pursuing bachelors’ of Education Arts at the school of Education.

UNSA and UNESA LEADERSHIP TRAINING WORKSHOP

The college of Education and External Studies management organized a two days training workshop for UNSA and UNESA student leaders on leadership role. This platform gave an opportunity for the elected leaders to engage and discuss student’s affairs at the Campus. The workshop which was held at Panorama Lodge Naivasha Lodge saw 24 elected leaders at the college attend the training.

Visit to Thogoto Home for The Aged

Thogoto home for the aged is a home for the senior citizens who have either been abandoned by relatives or don't have families. It was started in 1967 by the Women's Guild. The home is situated in Kikuyu near Kikuyu Mission Hospital along Kikuyu Hospital-Thogoto road (directly opposite the Church of the Torch). The home currently supports 33 seniors aged 90 years and above with the oldest being 113 years.

Graduation

The College of Education and External Studies produced 621 graduands in the 61stgraduation ceremony on Friday, September 6, 2019. Of the 621 graduands, 574 received Bachelor’s Degree and 47 Master’s Degree. 22 students graduated with 1st class honors.

Capacity Building training for Corruption Prevention Committees and integrity Assurance Officers

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) held a Capacity Building training for Corruption Prevention Committees and Integrity Assurance Officers on Monday, 8th April, 2019.

The workshop which was organized by the University of Nairobi in liason with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) was held in the School of Medicine Boardroom.

The event was graced by Prof. Stephen Kiama, the acting DVC Human Resource and Administration.
