    Prof. Agnes Mwang’ombe, Principal, College of Agriculture Veterinary Sciences presents a Congratulatory Message Card to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Peter Mbithi for his appointment as the 7th Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi.

    The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, made a visit to his former College, CAVS. This will be his first visit after his historic installation as the seventh Vice Chancellor. In this visit, he met the College of Agriculture Veterinary Sciences Academic Board to discuss the College memoranda.

    During the interactive session, the Principal, Prof. Agnes Mwang’ombe made a presentation detailing the pertinent issues affecting the College. In her speech, Prof. Mwang’ombe revealed that the College had committed to grow its income by 20 percent during the financial year as well as save on costs, in its revenue enhancement as per the recent performance contracting commitments. She said that the College has come up with innovative ways of revenue collection which include advertising its programmes in local and international exhibitions.

    Prof. Mbithi said that his vision for the University which is to ensure that UoN becomes a top-ranked, sustainable, world-class institution with enduring and valuable scholarly excellence. According to the Vice-Chancellor, it is key for the University to improve the academic and social facilities for students with more attention to student mentorship, orientation beyond classroom extracurricular activities and social life. Indeed, it is therefore important to review academic processes in order to ensure quality programmes, in-build experiential learning in all the programmes, implement all-round student mentorship by faculty, and sustained faculty training on pedagogy and andragogy.
